There are a number of meetings and seminars being held on-site throughout the two days – Wednesday June 16th and Thursday June 17th
Launch of the CPA’s Best Practice Guide on the Maintenance, Inspection, and Thorough Examination of Mobile Cranes – Wednesday 16th
This has been produced in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Safety Assessment Federation, the United Kingdom Contractors Group, the National Construction College and ConstructionSkills. The document gives comprehensive advice on the most effective and efficient ways of carrying out both maintenance and thorough examination of mobile cranes. It also addresses the often contentious issue of four yearly proof load testing. The launch will included presentations from both the HSE and the CPA’s Crane Interest Group, and will provide plenty of opportunity for questions from the audience.

Launch of the Best Practice Guide on the Safe Use of Lorry Loaders – Wednesday 16th
The CPA and the Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (ALLMI) will be jointly launching their Best Practice Guide on the Safe Use of Lorry Loaders. This Best Practice Guide builds on the advice given in the recently published revision of BS 7121-4 Code of practice for the safe use of cranes – Part 4: Lorry loaders, using a large number of practical examples and has been produced in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Modular and Portable Buildings Association, Safety Assessment Federation, the United Kingdom Contractors Group, the National Construction College and ConstructionSkills. The launch will include presentations from the HSE, ALLMI and the CPA.

ALLMI Operators Forum – Thursday 17th
The ALLMI Operators Forum will be holding its General Meeting at 10:00 on the 17th June in the Whittle suite. The meeting will provide members with an update on the various projects we're involved in, including:
- ALLMI's affiliation agreement with CPCS
- Launch of the ALLMI / CPA Best Practice Guide
- Development of ALLMI's Appointed Person training course
- Update on BS7121 Part 4 and EN12999
- Update on developments to the ALLMI training schemes as a result of the above Standards.
- Update on ALLMI's Code of Practice development.
